February 2005 - On occasion of his visit to Israel, Horst
Koehler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, said that
Germany is doing everything to prevent the further increase of
anti-Semitism. If this were true we would not need to approach you
today here and in this way. |
Yes, for you haGalil is free of charge.
However, haGalil costs money. |
Students, teachers and everybody else
interested can use the offers from haGalil online free of charge. We
want this to remain the way it is, HOWEVER:
haGalil does not receive any public funding.
The so called "Campaign of the Righteous" with funds of 200 million
Euro (!) in total prefers financing harmless movie evenings for
insiders and crayons for colouring small stars of David. This is the
kind of cosmetics, German government uses to hide the rise of
anti-Semitic and often anti-American feelings in wide ranges of the
German public.
Experts know, that prejudice, fear and hatred often prosper because
of the lack of knowledge and missing opportunities to get into
contact with members of other ethnic or religious groups. In respect
to anti-Semitism, this is especially true in Germany, were due to
the Holocaust the Jewish community is rather small and often not as
open to its surroundings as it was before the rise of Nazism.
Even though, "haGalil online", a huge, 24/7 daily available
informational and educational site on Jews and Judaism, which
welcomes and supports communication with all groups of German
society, is completely neglected by mainstream governmental support.
There is much talk about the "brown flood" on the Internet.
Effective measures to build, maintain, and expand a protective
barrier against this flood, remain the private issue of haGalil and
it's private supporters.
What can you do?
You can support haGalil with your donation.
Already 20 Euro per year help to keep haGalil afloat, if you can
donate 200, you finance information for 10 more readers.
